What is Smart Expiry?
Smart Expiry is an iPhone and Android app for managing product expiry dates in businesses. You scan the barcode and the date on the package, and the app alerts you before the product expires – so there is time to sell it, put it on sale or return it to the supplier.
Which businesses is it for?
Grocery stores, minimarkets, neighborhood supermarkets, kiosks, convenience stores, health food stores and delis – and any business that sells products with an expiry date and wants to stop finding them too late.
How do I add products?
Three ways: scan the barcode (if the product is in the database, its name fills in automatically) and point the camera at the printed date; photograph a delivery note, supplier invoice or product list and let AI identify the products; or add products without a barcode manually, with a name and a date.
How does AI supplier intake work?
Photograph a delivery note, supplier invoice or product list, and the app identifies the products and their barcodes. Then add the expiry dates with Fast Scan. The Free plan includes 5 pages a month, Pro includes 20, and Pro+ is built for high volume.
When do I get alerts?
You choose how many days before expiry and at what time of day the alert arrives. It reaches your phone and lists only the products that need attention.

There is a Free plan for up to 150 active products. Pro costs ₪99 per month and includes up to 2,000 products and 20 AI intake pages a month. Pro+ costs ₪199 per month and is built for high-volume businesses. Every new business gets its first 30 days with all Pro features, free.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Download the app and sign up, and your first 30 days with all Pro features start automatically. When they end, you can stay on the Free plan or upgrade.
Can several employees work on the same list?
Yes. Add employees with permissions, and everyone works on the same product list and sees the same updates.
Does it work without internet?
Yes, even with a weak connection. Changes are saved on the device and synced automatically when you're back online.
Which devices and languages are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 15.5 or later, and Android phones. The app is available on the App Store and Google Play, in Hebrew and English.
Why not just use a notebook or a spreadsheet?
Notebooks and spreadsheets don’t alert you: you have to remember to check them and type every product by hand. Smart Expiry adds products by scanning, alerts you before a product expires, splits the work between employees and shows how much was sold and how much was thrown away.
Can I export my product list?
Yes. Export the product list for any date range to PDF – for example, to print a checklist for the shelves.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play, and you can cancel anytime in your store account’s subscription settings.
